AT&T Officially Launches NBA TV as An A La Carte TV Channel

sports fans cheeringA few weeks ago NBA TV was made available as a stand-alone live TV streaming service. Today AT&T’s WarnerMedia made the launch offical as the first sports league network to go direct-to-consumer subscription service.

“Innovation has always been at the core of our NBA Digital partnership and the launch of this direct to consumer product, paired with new content initiatives, will provide NBA fans even greater opportunities to engage with NBA TV and our collective portfolio of brands,” said Tina Shah, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Turner Sports.  “As sports consumption continues to evolve, we will continue to develop new opportunities for fans to access and engage with premium NBA content.”

“NBA TV is the ultimate destination for around-the-clock access to premium NBA games and programming,” said Chris Benyarko, NBA Senior Vice President, Direct to Consumer.  “We are thrilled to offer more ways than ever to access NBA TV and provide a preview of the future live game viewing experience.”

The new NBA TV service is now available alongside the NBA League Pass service. With NBA League Pass, you can stream out of market games online. In the past, NBA TV was not included on NBA League Pass, but now with this new $6.99 a month or $59.99 a year package, you can stream NBA TV games through League Pass and NBA App. Sadly, if the game is being aired in your market or on a national network like TNT or ESPN, you will need a live TV streaming service.

The good news is that Sling TV, fuboTVYouTube TV, and PlayStation Vue, will give you NBA TV along with networks such as ESPN and TNT. You can watch the games on ABC with an antenna or by using your login for ESPN apps. So if your game is airing in other markets these services not only offer NBA TV but also offer the national networks you will want.
