AT&T Now Accepts BitPay Allowing AT&T Subscribers to Pay With Bitcoin

Girl on PhoneEver wish you could pay your AT&T bill with Bitcoin? Now AT&T has announced a partnership with BitPay to allow AT&T subscribers to pay their bill with Bitcoin through BitPay.

“We’re always looking for ways to improve and expand our services,” said Kevin McDorman, vice president, AT&T Communications Finance Business Operations. “We have customers who use cryptocurrency, and we are happy we can offer them a way to pay their bills with the method they prefer.”

AT&T is the first major mobile carrier to provide a cryptocurrency payment option to its customers.

Here is how BitPay describers their service:

BitPay, Inc. was founded in 2011, while Bitcoin was still in its infancy. We saw the potential for bitcoin to revolutionize the financial industry, making payments faster, more secure, and less expensive on a global scale.

We started BitPay because we wanted to make it easy for businesses to accept bitcoin payments. We are currently the largest bitcoin payment processor in the world, serving industry-leading merchants on six continents. We’ve created a seamless, secure bitcoin payment experience used daily by hundreds of thousands of bitcoin users.
