Today, AT&T announced a new prepaid unlimited plan that says it won’t slow you down even if you use a lot of data. This $65 a-month plan with auto-pay or $75 without auto-pay will give you 5G internet, unlimited talk, and text, along with 35GB of hotspot data. You will even be able to have 500 minutes of international calling to more than 30 countries.

Unlike the $55 unlimited plan, AT&T says this plan won’t slow down even if you use a lot of data.

AT&T has partnered with Walmart, Target, and Dollar General to offer these plans. This comes wireless customers are increasingly going prepaid, especially with the rising cost of living. Instead of long-term contracts and credit checks like in the old days, customers are enjoying prepaid as a month-to-month option for easy access to wireless 5G, talk, text, and, in this case, even some hotspot data.

Recently, Verizon has also been expanding into prepaid with Visible and its acquisition of Straight Talk, which has helped Verizon grow its prepaid customers without needing to build its own customer base. Verizon’s Straight Talk unlimited plans start at $35 for 10GB of high-speed data and 5GB of hotspot data. After that 10GB of data speeds drop down to 2G. You can sign up for more expensive plans with higher data. Straight talk offers single-line plans up to $65 a month for unlimited data and 20 GB of hotspot data.

Increasingly, Americans hit hard by inflation are looking for cheaper options for wireless services. Plans like these for many are just what they wanted, helping them save money.
