AT&T is Sending DIRECTV NOW’s Streaming Player Beta Testers an Updated Remote to Test

Last year AT&T announced that they had started beta testing for a new streaming video device they planned to offer with DIRECTV NOW. In December DIRECTV NOW mailed out their streaming player to a handful DIRECTV NOW subscribers to test out. Now, these betta testers are getting an updated remote according to an email being sent out by AT&T.

From looking at the images of the new DIRECTV NOW streaming player remote, it looks like AT&T has taken feedback about the remote and made a few changes. Many in the AT&T beta group complained that the DIRECTV NOW streaming players remote was stiff and unpleasant stiff to use. Now there is a new remote with larger buttons and a new D-pad that is likely meant to address these complaints.

As you can see the remote has been completely remade but the box looks the same. AT&T also announced that they are adding the ability to launch Netflix just by asking. Look for AT&T to continue to add more voice commands.
