AT&T Is Expanding Public 5G Testing

Want to test out 5G home internet in person? AT&T wants to give you a hands-on test at the upcoming Flacons vs Dallas Cowboys game on November 18, 2018. Can’t make the game and live in Hawaii? AT&T plans to offer in-person 5G internet tests in Hawaii at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit.

AT&T has already been offering public testing in Waco, Texas, at the Magnolia Silos owned by the popular HGTV hosts Chip and Joanna Gains.

AT&T has announced plans to launch their 5G system by the end of 2018. Verizon has already rolled out their 5G home internet service in a handful of markets. T-Mobile says they will also have a 5G network live by the end of 2018. Google, Charter, DISH, and others are also working on 5G home internet services.

According to AT&T, they hope to roll out 5G to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Nashville, Orlando, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, Indianapolis, Oklahoma City, Raleigh, and Waco by the end of 2018. No set dates have been announced for when these 5G networks will go live.
