AT&T Gives New Details About Their Upcoming On-Demand Streaming Service

This week AT&T held their annual Analysts Days to discuss strategies for 2019. Part of that talk was about a new planned streaming service with their newly acquired WarnerMedia.

According to AT&T, their new on-demand service will launch in the fourth quarter of 2019. The new service will include three levels: a basic entry-level option that will offer movies, a premium service level with original programming and “blockbuster movies,” and a final level that will include the first two plus additional content from WarnerMedia and other content providers.

AT&T hinted that there may even be an ad-supported version of the service in the future, but it may not be released at launch.

According to reports, this service will pull content from Turner, HBO, and Warner Bros. Reports have hinted that AT&T may pull back some of their content in favor of putting it on their own streaming service. What this means for partners like Hulu is still unknown. Though with this being about a year out a lot can change between now and the launch of the new service.
