Yesterday Warner Bros. Discovery announced a relaunch of HBO Max as just MAX. This new service will include content from Discovery+ and a ton of other features.

Many have been wondering what that means for customers who got free HBO Max from AT&T thanks to their internet or wireless plans. Now it seems like we have some good news.

Overnight HBO Max emailed these customers to inform them that their accounts will switch over to a MAX account when the rebranding happens on May 23rd. For now, it seems you get to keep the plan you are currently on.

There are a few catches, though. First, if you switch AT&T plans, you will lose access to Max as new AT&T plans do not offer Max as AT&T no longer owns HBO Max. Second, there was no word on if A&T customers will have the option to upgrade to the new, more expensive 4K option for $19.99 a month.

For now, all things are always subject to change, but for now, HBO Max is telling these customers their accounts will switch over to a MAX in May.
