AT&T is Considering Shutting Down UVerse.com & UVerse Apps

If you still pay for UVerse TV and enjoy streaming your TV online through UVerse website you may soon find it shut down.

Recently Phillip Swann, a reporter covering all things television, reported that AT&T told him that it may be making a huge shift to its UVerse brand. According to this conversation, AT&T is considering shutting down UVerse.com and even removing its UVerse app from devices such as the Xbox One.

AT&T may do this as quickly as May 30, 2017. AT&T has even gone so far as to start to notify its subscribers of the proposed plan.

This all seems to be a part of AT&T’s plan to move its UVerse subscribers over to DIRECTV and its new live TV streaming service, DIRECTV NOW.

This move would allow AT&T to free up bandwidth for its Internet services that are currently being used for its TV over IP UVerse system. This will also allow AT&T to remove a now redundant TV service. Currently AT&T is maintaining two different services that both offer the same TV service.

This is not a new push by AT&T. Reports have been floating around for months now that AT&T wants to eliminate the UVerse brand. It just seems that now AT&T is being more aggressive about it.
