AT&T Confirms That HBO Max Will Include Live TV & Live Sports Not Just On-Demand

Today during AT&T’s 2nd quarter earnings call AT&T confirmed that HBO Max will include live TV. AT&T says live sports and news will be apart of AT&T TV. This seems to confirm reports that DIRECTV NOW will merge into HBO Max. It has been reported that HBO Max will be like Hulu. Starting with a cheaper on-demand only version and a more expensive package that will include live TV.

AT&T also promises that HBO Max will offer exclusive live sporting events likely through its B/R Live content deals.

During an interview between CNBC and AT&T’s CEO John Stankey CNBC said:

“In addition, AT&T eventually plans to merge its DIRECTV NOW service with its WarnerMedia streaming service, giving customers a more robust TV offering than anything on the market, the people said. A combined product with a common search and user interface — which, like the standalone streaming service, could also come bundled at a discount with an AT&T wireless subscription — would give customers access to live pay-TV streaming channels and Warner’s library and originals, all in the same ecosystem.”

Now AT&T during their earnings call has said that HBO Max will include live TV something that seems to confirm what CNBC reported.
