AT&T & CBS Agree To a New Deal to Bring CBS Back to DIRECTV, DIRECTV NOW, & More

This morning AT&T and CBS announced a new deal to bring CBS owned locals back to DIRECTV, DIRECTV NOW, U-verse TV, and more. This contract dispute not only took down CBS owned locals but on DIRECTV NOW all CBS locals left the service.

This deal will see CBS locals, CBS Sports Network, and the Smithsonian Channel return to AT&T TV owned streaming service soon. (As of the time of this post CBS has yet to return to DIRECTV NOW now called AT&T TV NOW.)

The agreement includes retransmission consent for all 26 CBS-owned stations in 17 markets including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco, Boston, Atlanta, Tampa, Seattle, Detroit, Minneapolis, Miami, Denver, Sacramento, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore.

CBS went dark on AT&T owned services on July 19, 2019, at 2 AM Eastern. CBS owned locals left DIRECTV, and U-verse TV and all CBS stations left DIRECTV NOW that is being renamed to AT&T TV NOW.

Sadly Nexstar and AT&T have yet to reach a deal resulting in Nexstar owned locals still being dark on AT&T owned TV services.

This is breaking news more to come soon.
