Expanded Device Options for NEXTGEN TV

At the forefront of the NEXTGEN TV revolution is the debut of new ATSC 3.0 receivers, set to be showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. These devices range from premium NEXTGEN TV sets to budget-friendly accessories that upgrade existing Android and Fire TV devices. Among the most anticipated launches is the ADTH USB receiver, developed by Tolka, which offers a cost-effective way for users to access NEXTGEN TV. Future updates will include an offline model and software enhancements for existing devices, further broadening accessibility.

Zinwell is also introducing pause functionality to its accessory devices with the addition of an optional hard drive, while RCA is preparing to launch two new NEXTGEN TV sets in 2025, adding to the lineup from brands like Sony, Samsung, and TCL.

Anne Schelle, managing director of Pearl TV, celebrated the advancements: “These devices are bringing the best in video and audio quality to more homes, fulfilling our promise of a superior local television experience.”

Interactive Gaming with GameLoop TV

NEXTGEN TV isn’t just enhancing video quality—it’s also changing how viewers interact with their screens. Launching on Las Vegas channel 3.2, GameLoop TV will offer gaming directly through the broadcast signal. With no additional hardware or subscription required, viewers can instantly play games using just their TV remote or mobile phone. This innovation, led by broadcasters like Gray and Sinclair, represents a new era of accessible, web-based entertainment.

“GameLoop’s easy interactivity is going to be a game-changer for viewers,” Schelle noted.

Enhanced HDR and Dolby Atmos Support

NEXTGEN TV services are also elevating the visual and audio experience for major events like sports. Over 200 local stations now support High Dynamic Range (HDR), including HDR10+, ensuring brilliant visuals for a wide array of content. Dolby Atmos audio is also being rolled out, delivering an immersive sound experience that matches the superior video quality.

“HDR has been a game-changer for sports, making events like the Olympic Games and Kentucky Derby truly pop,” Schelle explained.

More Channels and Greater Accessibility

The addition of broadcast internet protocol (IP) channels is increasing the diversity of programming available through NEXTGEN TV, from public broadcasting to commercial networks. These channels are expanding the range of content for viewers in markets nationwide.
