NextGen TV has launched in Flight, MI, with five stations now broadcasting with the NextGen TV transmissions standard. The stations include: WJRT (ABC), WNEM (CBS), WSMH (Fox), WEYI (NBC), and WBSF (CW).

The participating station has cooperated to ensure that current programming remains available to all viewers, regardless of whether their television service is provided over-the air or by a cable or satellite company. Antenna viewers can simply rescan their TV sets to ensure full service.

With NextGen TV, viewers will get improved video and sound quality, added voice clarity, consistent volume across channels, enhanced internet content on demand, and advanced emergency alerting functions to keep viewers better informed.

Antenna viewers without NextGen TV sets can simply rescan their TV sets to ensure uninterrupted service. Rescan instructions are available at: fcc.gov/rescan. Cable and satellite subscribers do not need to take any action.

Around 45% of U.S. TV households are within range of receiving ATSC 3.0 and that number is expected to grow to 75% by the end of this year. Visit watchnextgentv.com for a list of cities that have launched NextGen TV and the cities that are set to launch later this year.
