AT&T Wireless and Internet Customers
These are the deals AT&T has announced for its customers:
- HBO will be included in DirecTV Premier and Lo Maximo, U-verse U400, U450, and U450 Latino and AT&T TV NOW MAX packages, as well as a new AT&T TV Premier package coming soon.
- New AT&T TV Choice, Xtra, or Ultimate, and Optimo Mas packages and current AT&T TV Choice, Xtra, or Ultimate, and Optimo Mas customers will be eligible for one year of HBO Max.
- Existing customers on many AT&T video packages will be eligible for HBO and HBO Max for 3 months, at no charge.
- HBO Max will be included with the AT&T Internet 1000 plan at no additional charge.
- New and existing AT&T internet customers can sign up for a special offer for 1 month free of HBO Max.
- HBO Max will be included with AT&T Unlimited Elite wireless plans.
- All other new and current AT&T wireless customers on AT&T Unlimited Extra, Unlimited Starter, and AT&T Mobile Share plans can sign up for a special offer for 1 month free of HBO Max.
HBO Now Subscribers Directly Through HBO Now
AT&T has said that customers who are currently subscribed to HBO Now through hbonow.com and are billed by directly by HBO will automatically have access to HBO Max.
A spokesperson for HBO Max said they will be “communicating additional details on how specific users access HBO Max as we get closer to launch.”
HBO Subscribers Through Third Party Services
Those who are subscribed to HBO through apps like Amazon Channels or Roku may not be automatically upgraded, due to paying through a separate app. We’re still waiting for details about how these customers can access HBO Max when it launches.
HBO Subscribers Through Streaming Services & Cable Providers
HBO Max has announced distribution agreements with Hulu with Live and YouTube TV. With those agreements, those who are already subscribed to HBO through the services will have access to HBO Max at no additional cost. Those who aren’t currently subscribed to the HBO add ons will be able to purchase HBO Max directly through Hulu or YouTube TV for $14.99/month.
The company also announced distribution deals with Altice USA, Cox Communications, Microsoft, National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC), Samsung, Sony Interactive Entertainment, and Verizon. Click here to go to the full post about those deals, with a breakdown of each of those agreements.
