Apple’s iTunes is Reportedly Being Retired After 18 Years & Will Be Replaced By Stand-Alone Apps

Apple’s iTunes has become the one stop shop for movies, TV Shows, Music, and so much more for Apple products. Now it is being reported by Bloomberg that Apple plans to discontinue the app and replace it with stand-alone Music, TV, and Podcasts apps in the next major version of its MacOS. Sadly no word on what this means for Windows users who have iTunes installed.

It seems that Apple is looking for a way to slim down iTunes from what has become a very bloated application. The question now is how will Apple users respond to having multiple apps instead of a single app.

Apple is holding a press conference Monday at 10 AM Pacific and will reportedly be announcing iOS 13, macOS 10.15, watchOS 6, and tvOS 13. Cord Cutters News will have full coverage of any cord cutting related news to come from the event with a live blog post that we will update during the presentation.
