Apple Won’t Allow Nudity or Violence in its TV Shows

For some time now we have heard that Apple is hard at work building up original TV shows likely for some unannounced service. Now we are getting a look at what we can expect from these new shows.

According to a report from Bloomberg Apple will not allow its upcoming shows to feature nudity, strong language, or violence. Instead, the company wants to focus on comedies and dramas.

According to reports produces and partners have labeled Apple as “conservative and picky.” Apple already has a history of editing their shows the Carpol Karaoke show on Apple Music has a been edited by Tim Cook in order to remove “foul language and references to vaginal hygiene” in the past.

Yet this has not stopped Apple from striking several deals with big names. Recently we learned that Apple had teamed up with Steven Spielberg to receive his Amazing Stories series from the 1980s.

Recently the online streaming originals have been dominated by services like Hulu, Amazon, and Netflix. For now, we will have to wait and see what Apple does next. Currently, all Apple originals end up on the Apple music service but they have a tie into Music. These new shows do not seem to be a good fit for Apple’s music service. Likely pointing to some type of new service and others have speculated that Apple plans to sell the shows exclusively through iTunes.
