Apple Wipes iTunes Facebook & Instagram Pages Seemingly Confirming iTunes Retirement

Last Friday it was reported that Apple would likely to retire iTunes and replace it with standalone apps for music, TV, and more. According to reports, Apple would announce this change on Monday during its WWDC event. Now in a move that seems to confirm this Apple has deleted all posts on iTunes social media accounts including Facebook and Instagram.

According to reports Apple plans to discontinue iTunes and replace it with stand-alone Music, TV, and Podcasts apps in the next major version of its MacOS. (Sadly no word on what this means for Windows users who have iTunes installed.)

It seems that Apple is looking for a way to slim down iTunes from what has become a very bloated application. The question now is how will Apple users respond to having multiple apps instead of a single app.

Apple is holding a press conference Monday at 10 AM Pacific and will reportedly be announcing iOS 13, macOS 10.15, watchOS 6, and tvOS 13. Cord Cutters News will have full coverage of any cord cutting related news to come from the event with a live blog post that we will update during the presentation.
