Apple Will Roll Out a “Smart TV Guide” For The Apple TV Tomorrow

AppleTVIf Recode is right Apple will unveil a “Smart TV Guide” tomorrow during it’s “Hello Again” press event.

The idea of this new Smart TV Guide is that Apple wants to make it easier to find and watch video content without requiring users to sift through a bunch of apps. Instead, Apple’s guide will aggregate shows and movies that are available and then send users directly to that content via deep links. The feature is supposed to work on the Apple TV streaming box as well as on other iOS devices like iPhones.

However, according to industry sources, Netflix, which has worked closely with Apple in the past, will not work with this Smart TV Guide.

This service sounds like a cross between a universal search and Roku’s my feed.

Recode reports that 4th generation Apple TV owners will be able to use the new guide.
