Apple Users Can Now Watch Disney+ With Friends Via SharePlay

Apple’s latest update now allows users to stream Disney+ with its FaceTime feature SharePlay. Now, users can stream their favorite shows and movies on Disney+ with up to 31 friends at a time, making for the ultimate movie night.

While Disney+ already has a group watch feature, this is the first time the service has been supported on SharePlay, which allows users to do other things on their Apple phone or device while still streaming. The feature is available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV devices updated with iOS 15.1, tvOS 15.1, or iPadOS 15.1 or later.

To use the feature, you’ll first start the FaceTime call, then open the Disney+ app, and a notice will appear at the top of the screen alerting you that SharePlay is available. Now you can start streaming whatever content you want to watch on Disney+, and everyone on the FaceTime call will be able to see what’s playing, as well as control the pause, rewind, or fast forward controls.

Note that the feature doesn’t work on kids profiles, and every user participating in the SharePlay will need to have a Disney+ subscription.
