Apple TV is bringing one of its longest-running originals to a close… but not before one final mission.
The streaming service has officially renewed its critically acclaimed space drama For All Mankind for a sixth and final season, while also confirming that season five will premiere on Friday, March 27, 2026.
Apple announced that For All Mankind will conclude with its upcoming sixth season, bringing an end to the long-running alternate-history space drama. The series, which debuted with the launch of Apple TV in 2019, has remained one of the platform’s most recognizable and consistently praised originals.
Creators Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert, and Ben Nedivi said they are “thrilled to have the opportunity to finish the story the way we’ve always hoped,” signaling that the final season will deliver a planned conclusion rather than an abrupt ending.
Apple TV’s head of programming Matt Cherniss described the show as “one of Apple TV’s most enduring and celebrated series,” noting that it has continued to resonate with audiences since its debut.
Season 5 Release Schedule and What to Expect
Before the final season arrives, fans will get a full new chapter. Season five of For All Mankind premieres Friday, March 27, 2026, with one episode dropping at launch.
New episodes will then roll out weekly every Friday through May 29, following Apple TV’s standard release format for its original series.
The new season jumps forward to the 2010s, years after the Goldilocks asteroid heist. Mars’ Happy Valley has evolved into a thriving colony with thousands of residents, serving as a hub for deeper space exploration. However, tensions rise as Earth’s governments attempt to impose control over life on the Red Planet, creating friction between Mars settlers and their home planet.
Spinoff “Star City” Also Set to Launch
In addition to the main series, Apple TV confirmed that a new spinoff titled Star City will debut globally on May 29, expanding the For All Mankind universe even further.
The franchise expansion comes as the original series prepares to wrap, offering fans another perspective within the same alternate-history timeline.
For All Mankind will stream exclusively on Apple TV+, with season five premiering on Friday, March 27, 2026.
