Apple TV has ordered a biographical documentary on the life and career of the highly successful Oprah Winfrey. The film profile will be a two-part documentary, headed by Lisa Erspamer and Academy Award-winner Kevin MacDonald, the team who produced the Whitney Houston doc, Whitney. Erspamer also produced The Oprah Winfrey Show for 10 years from 1999 to 2009.
The film will chronicle 25 years of Winfrey’s life, rising through history from humble beginnings to a billionaire talk show host, actress, philanthropist, author, producer, and more.
Apple TV+ and Winfrey are no strangers to each other. Winfrey has worked with Apple on a number of other projects, including three shows – The Oprah Conversation, Oprah’s Book Club, and Oprah Talks Covid-19 – which are all currently streaming on Apple TV+.

Oprah Talks COVID-19
Oprah Winfrey has remote conversations with experts and everyday people to provide insight, meaning and advice on how to move mindfully through the coronavirus crisis. The first episode aired March 21 and featured Idris Elba who had tested positive for Covid-19 early on.
