American Airlines has partnered with Apple TV+ to make some shows from the streamer available onboard its flights. This entertainment option is now available as of August 1 on AA planes with seatback TVs, and on personal devices via inflight wifi.
Unlike the Fruit’s previous deal to bring Apple Music onboard AA flights, you don’t need a subscription or account to watch Apple TV+ during your air travel. You can find select shows preloaded on the seatback entertainment screens (features that are becoming more scarce on AA planes), or on your own phone or tablet via the AA app or at aainflight.com on a laptop. Plus, you won’t need to purchase an inflight wifi package to access the streaming content, it’s included in the free wifi option.
While the entire Apple TV+ library isn’t available on AA flights, there are some originals up for streaming you can kill time with while in the air. But there are no complete seasons as of now. For instance, Apple’s The Morning Show only has two episodes available to stream inflight, just enough to give you a sampling of the show, pass the time during travel, and maybe even draw you in enough to persuade you into a subscription.

If you already have an Apple TV+ subscription, it doesn’t matter what airline you’re on since you can download your Apple TV+ shows and movies right to your device for offline viewing. But for those who haven’t pulled the trigger on a subscription, this is a great way to stay entertained during your flight and maybe even convince you to sign up for the streaming service.
