Apple TV is Getting the Peloton Workout App

Today Peloton subscribers were notified that the company’s app will be available on Apple TV. This means Peloton subscribers everywhere will be able to use their Apple TV as a screen to stream fitness classes.

This news comes just after Peloton recently added Chromecast airplay capabilities for Smart TVs and released an Amazon Fire TV and Apple Watch app last December. This new app for Apple TV means you can bypass using Chromecast as a means to stream your workouts on your big screen and play them directly from the source.

Peloton is known for its stationary bike and treadmills that offer customized on-screen workouts to follow. Now with this addition to the Apple TV, you can jump right off your bike and cool down with a strength or stretching routine via your TV screen. The app offers a  mix of running, strength, toning, cycling, yoga, meditation and outdoor workouts. Many of the classes don’t require any special equipment, others incorporate simple workout staples like hand weights or yoga mats and blocks.

More info on how to access the new Peloton app for Apple TV is yet to be released.

To find the app on your Fire TV, simply search for it on your Fire TV or hold down the microphone button on your Alexa Voice Remote, speak into your Echo device or Fire TV Cube and say “Alexa, Open Peloton.” New users can download it from there.

If you’re already a Peloton member, access to the Apple TV and Fire TV app is free with your existing login. If you’re using Peloton for the first time, you can sign up for a 30 day trial via the Fire TV app. After that, it’s $12.99/month.
