The ‘Amazing Stories’ show was Spielberg’s attempt to create an updated ‘Twilight Zone’ and The ‘Outer Limites’ show. The show only ran for two seasons on NBC before being canceled.
According to reports, the reboot will bring 10 episodes of ‘Amazing Stories’ to Apple’s platform, according to The Wall Street Journal. Apple is reportedly paying $5 million per episode to produce the show. Steven Spielberg will be the executive producer and will reportedly pick up from where the mid-1980s show left off.
We are not sure exactly how Apple plans to use the show. Will it be apart of some new service they are launching or will it join Apple Music as the other Apple original shows have been so far. Yet this new show does not seem to be a fit for their music service unlike the recently canceled Elvis biopic or their Carpool Karaoke show.
For now, we will have to wait and see what happens. The project seems to be in a very early stage and likely won’t come out till late 2018 at the earliest.
