Apple Shares Their Plans for Launching New Shows on Apple TV+

In an interview with the Sunday Times, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, Eddy Cue dove further into the plans for the new streaming service, Apple TV+.

During the interview, Cue revealed that the plan for Apple TV+ is to focus more on slowly rolling out high quality content, rather than pushing a huge amount of content immediately. This quality over quantity approach has many saying that Apple TV+ is directly going against the Netflix strategy of constantly releasing new content to draw in a wide range of viewers.

Cue also acknowledged Apple’s place in the world of hardware, noting that Apple wasn’t the first to create computers, smartphones, or tablets. “We try to be the best, and we don’t have to be the first to be the best,” he commented, saying the company doesn’t “know a lot about television other than we are big consumers of it.” What Apple does excel at is finding the right people to fill the gaps.

To be more competitive in the streaming space, those partnerships have included J.J Abrams, Oprah Winfrey, and Steven Spielberg among other big names in television and movies. Apple has developed a long list of original series and movies. which Cue says will be released each month on the Apple TV+ streaming services. Check out the full list of that original content here.
