Apple Is Considering Building an Apple TV Streaming Stick

According to reports this week Apple is considering make a sub $100 streaming stick to compete with the cheaper Roku and Fire TV streaming players.

This comes from a report at The Information. According to the report, Apple is considering building a streaming stick to help them promote their new streaming service, which is reportedly only going to be available on Apple devices.

The Apple TV has long struggled in fourth place behind Roku, Amazon, and the Chromecast. The Apple TV had seen some growth based largely on the DIRECTV NOW deals, but recent surveys of our readers show that growth has slowed.

With the Apple TV starting at $149 and their competitors starting at $30 to $40 you would see why Apple would want to offer a less expensive option.

Now, this is all based on early reports that Apple Is considering a dongle-type streaming player. As with all new products it may end up never coming to market even if Apple aggressively works on the new device. Yet for Apple TV fans, a cheaper option would likely help Apple gain market share from other streaming devices.
