Apple iPhone, Macs, and iPad Get Emergency Security Updates

It’s a good time to update your iPhone, iPad and Mac operating systems.

Apple on Thursday released emergency software updates for both its phones, tablets, and computers to close a security vulnerability, which were found to have been exploited in prior attacks. The vulnerability was spotted by Bleeping Computer.

“Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been exploited against versions of iOS before iOS 16.7.1,” Apple said in an advisory that came out on Wednesday.

The vulnerability was located in the code for its WebKit browser engine, allowing attackers to access information on the device.

The updates include macOS Sonoma 14.1.2, iOS 17.1.2, iPadOS 17.1.2, and Safari 17.1.2.

Given these vulnerabilities were already exploited by hackers, it’s worth updating your devices as quickly as possible.
