Apple Fitness+ Set to Launch Dec 14

Today Apple announced its new workout platform Apple Fitness+ will officially launch on December 14. The app, which Apple is calling “the future of fitness,” delivers state of the art workouts and studio fitness classes for users to stream on their iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. The app also integrates with Apple Watch and gives users the flexibility to workout anywhere.

“Being more active is one of the most important things we can do for our health, but we know choosing to work out can often be a challenge whether you’re very active or just getting started,” said Jay Blahnik, Apple’s senior director of Fitness Technologies. “We’re excited for Apple Fitness+ to bring together the metrics from Apple Watch, great music, and a diverse and inspiring trainer team — in a uniquely simple, easy-to-access way across Apple devices — to encourage our users to get fit and stay healthy.”

Here are some key features:

Fitness+ will recommend workouts to users based on what you’ve already completed before, taking levels and difficulty into account. When you select a workout on your Apple TV, iPhone or iPad, the same workout will automatically begin on your Apple watch. The metrics from your watch will then appear on the screen tracking heart rate and performance.

Fitness+ is included in the bundle service, Apple One, which combines Apple’s subscription services including Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News, Apple Fitness, and iCloud.
