Apple Finally Addresses One of the Biggest Apple TV Issues

hero_largeEver since the new Apple TV came out late last year people have complained about the keyboard—especially when entering passwords.

The keyboard on the new Apple TV is just one long line of letters, and you couldn’t even move from A to Z. If your password had an A followed by a Z you had to go all the way from one side to the other.

Several services have removed the keyboard password requirements replacing it with a website option so you can enter your password on your phone through a browser.

Now in what may be an admission from Apple that the keyboard is painful to use for passwords they have finally made a change. In the new developer build Apple has allowed voice dictation for passwords. With voice dictation you will be able to say A B C D, and the Apple TV will enter ABCD on the screen allowing you to enter a password in a fraction of the time it currently takes.

Although the Apple TV still lags behind other devices when it comes to apps, fixing the much complained about password system will help make the Apple TV a more attractive device for people who own both an Apple TV and other streaming devices.
