Apple Could Finally Be Updating the Apple TV Remote

Apple TV and RemoteIn leaked iOS 14 code, we’re getting a sneak peek at some of the updates coming to Apple hardware, including iPad Pro, iPhone 9, and Apple TV.

Last month, we learned that there is a new Apple TV in the works, when 9to5 Mac shared a hidden listing on Target’s website for a new Gen X Apple TV that will cost $179.99. Within the code, 9to5Mac found the codename T1125 which they believe suggests that the code is referring to a prototype for a new model that isn’t yet ready to be released.

Now, 9to5 Mac is back with another interesting Apple TV update: a new remote. It’s no surprise that many Apple TV users are not fans of the Apple TV remote. While details about an updated remote are thin, we’re hopeful that the new version will be more user-friendly. As 9to5 Mac points out, the current version is also expensive, with the Siri remote alone costing more than entire streaming devices sold by competitors.

If you’re one of the many Apple TV users who are happy with the device and interface but not the remote, it looks like you might be in luck.
