Apple CEO is Not Ready to Talk about Their Soon to Be Launched Netflix Competitor

Yesterday during Apple’s earnings call, CEO Tim Cook talked about the future of their TV efforts. In the call he talked about the Apple TV and their AirPlay 2 efforts but when it came to original content and their plans to launch a Netflix competitor Cook declined to comment at this time.

You can hear his full comments on the future of Apple’s TV efforts here:

Apple has for some time been striking deals to get original content from a variety of partners including Opera. It has been reported that Apple plans to launch this service by mid-April. I wouldn’t take Apple’s refusal to talk about the service today as any indication of issues or delays. Apple has a long history of waiting until the last second to make an announcement on a new service.

The only questions now are when will the service launch, what devices will it support, and what will it cost.
