Antenna Direct is About to Release a New Streaming Stick to Stream Your Antenna to Any Device

One of the biggest issues with an indoor antenna is that your TV is often not in the best spot for an antenna, whether it be in the basement or just on the wrong side of the house.

The other big issue is that running an antenna to multiple TVs can be cumbersome at best. To address these issues antenna manufacturers have started to create antennas with built-in Wifi. This allows the antenna to connect to your home Wifi and stream to many popular streaming players — without the need for wires. This allows users to put an antenna in an upstairs bedroom, but connect it to a TV in the basement without the need for wires.

Currently, there are two big brands moving into this field; there is the WatchAir and there is a new antenna from Mohu, called the AirWave, coming out in a month. There is also Tablo DVRs that do something simular.

Antenna Direct is moving in to this field as well, but in a slightly different way. Last week, a new Fire TV app from Antenna Direct was released. This new apps description says,

“Over-the-air television made wireless! Pause, rewind, and watch all your favorite network shows using the ClearStream TV and any HDTV antenna with no subscription or monthly fees from *ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, PBS, myTV, ION, MeTV, The CW, Univision, along with expanded programming, using the FREE ClearStream TV companion app. Includes a program guide to preview all your upcoming shows [availability and performance of certain features and applications are device and network dependent].”

The description goes on to say “The ClearStream TV Over-The-Air Digital Tuner can be used on any home WiFi network compatible with 802.11n over 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz and compatible mobile devices.”

This raises some questions as Antenna Direct has not released a product capable of doing this.

Looking at the app and the image of settings, it looks like the product will be called ClearStream TV. The Amazon listing video for this product shows you will get a stick that will allow you to connect any antenna and stream it to a wide range of players.

Update: according to a page on Antennas Direct website the ClearStream TV stick will cost $99.99.

Here is how the Amazon listing describes the product features:

The Antenna Direct website says you will be able to use ClearStream TV with Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV, Kindle, iOS, and Android devices.

For now, we will have to wait and see when the product goes live. It is likely to happen sometime soon as the app is now live on the Fire TV Here.
