The MI is expected to cost less than $100 and is capable of streaming 4K video at 60 FPS with support for Dolby Digital Plus audio playback. In addition, there’s HDMI 2.0a compatibility, a quad-core ARM processor, Mali 450 GPU and 2GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage. The MI is expected to even come with a controller for playing Android games on your TV.
Xiaomi is a Chinese smart phone company that is looking to expand into new markets, especially the United States.
No official date has been announced by Xiaomi or Google, but TechCrunch seems confidant that the player will hit the market in the fourth quarter 2016.
