Android TV Is Making It Easier to Sign Up for Streaming Services

This week at Google I/O it was announced that a redesigned Play Store for Android TV was on its way. The big selling point is the ability to easily subscribe to streaming services like fuboTV when you install the app. You will also be able to use PINs to log into apps without typing in a full password.

Easier Subscription Options

Now when you install a new app like fuboTV—if the app developer enables it—you will find a screen offering to let you subscribe through your Google account.

This seems to be a move to take on Amazon Channels, Apple Channels, and The Roku Channel that all let you easily sign up to streaming services on different streaming players. Google wants to make Android TV as easy as its competitors.

PIN Login

Hate having to manually enter passwords using an onscreen keyboard? Google is making it easy to login with just a PIN.

Google says these new features will roll out later in 2019.
