Americans Miss These Top 10 Canceled Netflix Shows the Most

It happens to everyone at some point, you find that perfect series to settle into and get hooked on the character developments, plot, setting, and storyline, only to hear the devastating news that the show has been canceled and won’t be renewed for another season. Netflix passes out its fair share of pink slips when it comes to its original series. In fact, it’s been accused of having a high ax-rate, although Netflix’s head of TV says it matches the “industry standard.”

Digital SEO company Ardent Growth took it upon itself to find out which Netflix series viewers missed the most. It surveyed 2,609 members of the public and discovered 71% were upset that Marvel series Luke Cage was canceled after two seasons. In second place was female wrestling show G.L.O.W with 61% of votes, closely followed by the zombie comedy series Santa Clarita Diet.

Here are the top 10 shows Americans are most upset about Netflix canceling:

  2. G.L.O.W – 61%
  3. Santa Clarita Diet – 60%
  4. The Punisher – 55%
  5. Teenage Bounty Hunters – 52%
  6. BoJack Horseman – 50%
  7. The OA – 49%
  8. Next in Fashion – 47%
  9. Altered Carbon – 44%
  10. Disjointed – 40%

Some of these on the list were canceled after just one season, including Next In Fashion hosted by Alexa Chung and Tan France, while others were not renewed after a several-year run, like Santa Clarita Diet and Bojack Horseman.

When participants were asked why they were upset that their favorite shows were cut too short, almost six in ten (68%) participants felt as though the show had more to give in terms of storyline, with 28% of respondents feeling dispirited and lonely at the thought of not seeing their favorite characters.
