Now Twitch streamers can offer VIP badges and custom Subs to their subscribers. Twitch streamers will also be able to offer subscriber only streams giving them access to exclusive content.
“Creators often ask us for new and better ways to reward their viewers; VIP badges and custom Sub emotes are just a few examples. The next gadget we’re adding to their kit is Subscriber Streams. This feature launches in beta today, and we’re breaking it down right here, right now.” Twitch said in a statement on their website.
For a Twitch streamer to be eligible to offer a paid membership they must:
- The streamer must be a Twitch Affiliate or Twitch Partner.
- The streamer must not have violated the Twitch Community Guidelines in their last 90 unique broadcast days. This means that if their channel received a suspension, they would need to broadcast on 90 different days without another violation to be eligible again.
Twitch says if you are not a subscriber to a strem you will be able to preview the stream to decide if you want to subscribe. Also, streams that are for subscribers only will be tagged as a “Subscriber Stream” to easily help non-subscribers identify what streams they don’t have access to.
