Amazon’s Prime Video App for Android TV Is Live in the Google Play Store But Not For Download

For four days now Amazon has had an official Prime Video app for Android TV in the Google Play Store, but they have not turned on the ability to download it yet.

Why is it there, and why is it not available for download?

Currently, there are rumors floating around that Amazon is trying to use the prospect of an official Amazon Prime Video app for Android TV to get Google to agree to keep YouTube on the Fire TV.

Google recently announced that on January 1, 2018, they will be pulling the YouTube app from the Fire TV. Reports are that Google and Amazon are in high level talks to keep YouTube on the Fire TV. Google recently relisted the Chromecast and Chromecast Ultra on the Amazon store and now this app has shown up on the Google Play Store.

According to all reports Amazon is trying to sweeten the pot for Google to try and work a deal to get YouTube to stay on the Fire TV.

The questions now are if Google pulls YouTube from the Fire TV will Amazon keep selling the Chromecast and will their official Android TV app ever see the light of day.
