Amazon’s New Remote Is Also Available Via Third-Gen Fire TV Stick Bundle

Amazon’s latest Fire TV remote control, which adds on four dedicated direct-access media buttons, was officially listed on the company’s website last week for a standalone price of $29.99. However, it’s also available alongside the Third-Gen Fire TV Stick as part of a $39.99 package that’s set to ship at the end of April.

To recap, the new remote, officially listed as the Alexa Voice Remote, went from rumor to official product in rapid succession. We reported on recent regulatory filings in mid-March that pointed to a new version of Amazon’s Fire TV input device. Just four days later, the remote, with its new name, popped up on Amazon’s product listings with a $29.99 price tag and a ship date of April 14th.

The most obvious change on this new remote is those four direct access buttons dedicated to opening specific streaming services — in this case: Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+, and Hulu. The other notable change is the addition of a blue Alexa button up top for inputting voice commands, replacing the microphone button that was present on earlier versions of the Fire TV remote.

So, if you’re in the market for a non-4K streaming device to add to your home, and you’re OK waiting until the listed April 28th ship date, the Third-Gen Fire TV Stick with the company’s new Alexa Voice Remote is currently up for grabs.
