This new feature was confirmed by Elias Saba an Amazon Fire TV team member on Twitter:
Amazon Fire TVs will now sync the Prime Video movies and shows on your Recent row across all of your devices. Start watching something on one device and it’ll automatically appear on the Recent row of your other devices so you can pickup where you left off. pic.twitter.com/Hh7zQKg33F

The good news is Amazon is making this an option you can turn on or off in the Fire TV settings. So if you would rather not see what your kids are watching on their TV you don’t have to but if you want this it is now an option for Fire TV owners.
