Amazon late last year launched Inspire, a TikTok-like shopping feed of photos and videos featuring products on the online retailer site. Thanks to a post by one influencer, we now know how much the company will pay for one of those videos.

Kyndhal, a self-described Amazon influencer posted a screenshot on X (formerly Twitter) offering a “limited time incentive” of earning up to $12,500 for 500 videos. That breaks down to $25 a video or, as Bloomberg notes, a tenth of the going rate. The only comment on the post was from someone who replied “LOL no thanks.”

A spokesperson for Amazon wasn’t immediately available for comment.

The Inspire feed was meant to give consumers another avenue to discover new products and shop in the same way they scroll through social media, with both Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts operating with the same vertical scroll. While those other networks boast a flood of user-generated content, the effort to pay influencers is likely a way to continue offering fresh content on its feed.

The effort come as TikTok is reportedly looking to launch its own e-commerce platform. The social network, featuring bite-sized videos paired with trendy music, has exploded with popularity and massive reach, particularly with younger consumers.
