Amazon Wants to Let You Buy the Stuff You See in Movies & TV Shows

720x405-MCDELAN_EC032_HAmazon has a brand new way for you to buy stuff you see in TV shows and movies. Yup, soon you will be able to buy the stuff you see in your favorite shows.

Amazon Video is teaming up with Japanese entertainment conglomerate Yoshimoto Kogyo to create a television series about local Japanese cuisines, which will feature items that users can buy while watching according to Nikkei.

For now this is just a test market of Amazon’s new 1-click buying option for their Amazon Prime Video apps; however, this has been something Amazon has talked about for some time.

Amazon is hoping this new option will boost sales as Amazon Video continues to grow and is now the largest movie rental service in the United States—larger than both iTunes and even Redbox.

Details are thin, but it sounds as if Amazon will take advantage of the same system that allows you to find out who that on-screen actor is to find out what they are wearing or drinking. From there, with 1-click, you can purchase the item and have it shipped to your house similar to their dash button system.

No timeline has been announced for further trials, but you can expect this to hit US shores sometime this fall/winter.
