Amazon Video Will Soon Offer A La Cart Channel Subscriptions

amzn_roku_grid_fullLove AMC Shows and wish you could subscribe to just AMC Shows without paying for FX or other networks? Soon, Amazon will let you choose the channels you want to subscribe to without all the content you do not want according to Bloomberg.

No longer will you have to pay per show for next day episodes; instead, a monthly fee will give you next day access to every episode from your favorite network. This may be as close to an a la cart channel option as we will get right now.

Unlike Hulu which requires you to subscribe to everything they offer, Amazon Video will allow you to pick and choose which networks you want. Amazon was contacted about the la cart channel subscription but declined to comment at this time.

At this time it is unclear which networks will be part of this service, but many already have a close relationship with Amazon. It was also reported that this service is separate from the Amazon’s efforts to offer live streaming of cable TV channels.

If Amazon delivers this service as described it will make Amazon Video a “must have” app for cord cutters, leaving any device without the Amazon Video app severely lacking. It will also help make Fire TV the “must have” set top streaming device of 2016.
