Amazon Updates Their Roku Prime Video Channel to Make it More Like The Fire TV

Yesterday Amazon quietly updated their Prime Video Channel on Roku. (Formally called the Amazon Video Channel.) This comes after Amazon has recently started to rebrand their Amazon Video service as a Prime Video. Well, Amazon is calling it Prime Video you don’t need to be a Prime member to use the channel. You can still buy or rent movies and TV shows right through the app.

The main update is here moving the menus from vertical row on the left to a horizontal row at the top of the screen. You will also notice Amazon has removed the ability to hit the * key and only show Amazon Prime content. With the menu at the top, the new Prime Video app on Roku looks a lot like the Fire TV home screen.
