Amazon Rolling Out New-Look User Interface to Fire TV Devices

RESIZED-Fire TV Experience-Home

This week, Amazon unveiled a revamped user interface for its Fire TV line of streaming devices. The new “Fire TV experience” aims to offer a more intuitive and personalized interface when it rolls out starting this week. It looks like the update will arrive in waves and first up will be the company’s recent 3rd Gen Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick Lite. Users of both new devices should see the new-look interface in the coming weeks.

Of note is a new Home screen and a main navigation menu located right in the middle of the screen. You’ll see large content art up top and a traditional tile grid underneath. As for the main bar itself, you’ll have access to your library, live content, and a search function under “Find.” You’ll also have direct access to key apps via smaller tiles along the menu bar.

Amazon also showed off a revised Find menu with key genres and categories, as well as a profile select screen, where up to six household members can create their own user profiles. The company says the updated interface also includes improved Alexa integration. We’re looking forward to getting some hands-on time with the experience in the near-future. In the meantime, 3rd Gen Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick Lite users should see the update popping up over the next few weeks.
