Amazon has discontinued its Luna desktop app compatibility for Windows PCs and Macs. Users who have Luna installed will still be able to use the service but no new downloads will be available from here on out.

Update: Now Amazon Luna customers can use their browser to play Luna games on PC and Mac.

Amazon Luna is a cloud gaming service that allows users to cloud-sync compatible devices through the app for high-speed gameplay just about anywhere. Luna requires a minimum internet speed of 10 Mbps and uses Microsoft Edge, Safari, and Chrome web browsers for online access.

Luna will still be available on Fire TV, Fire Tablets, Chromebook, iPhone, and iPad as well as certain models of Samsung smart TVs and Android devices.

A full list of compatible devices as listed on Amazon Luna’s website include:

It is unclear how long Luna will remain available as Amazon has experienced massive losses surrounding the service. After Luna’s launch in March of 2022, the division has already lost some key executives as well as reduced the number of games in its collection in addition to numerous layoffs.

Luna still offers an extensive collection of popular games, such as Fortnite, Lego DC Super Villains, and Resident Evil 2.

Amazon includes Luna for free in its Prime membership plans. Those without a Prime membership can sign up for Luna+ for $9.99 per month. Games can be bought through the Luna+, Ubisoft, or Jackbox Games store and played on any compatible synced device listed above.
