Yes, next time you want to buy a show or a movie to stream on Amazon you will need to look for Prime Vidoe. This was first spotted by AFTVnews.com who noticed that Amazon even rebranded their help pages about buying streaming movies to list the service as Prime Video.
Not all apps have been updated. For example, the Amazon Video app on Roku is still called the Amazon Video Roku Channel. Yet others like the new Android app on the Goole Play store is called Amazon Prime Video.
Why exactly they made this move is anyone’s guess right now. This could be the first step in a larger plan or just an effort to promote the Prime brand. Sadly this will likely cause confusion for non-prime members who want to rent a movie or buy an episode of a show they missed through Amazon.
