It is often referred to as the gold standard of audio and even supports overhead audio for home theaters with ceiling speakers. Now Amazon is adding Dolby Atmos Support to Amazon Prime Video.

On August 31, 2018, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, a new Amazon original show, will launch as the first Dolby Atmos Amazon Original.

Owners of the new Fire TV and Fire TV Cube will have the ability to access Dolby Atmos sound as they stream on Amazon Prime Video.

Fire TV and Fire TV Cube owners will also be able to access Dolby Atmos sound on select Netflix titles. This comes alongside the HDR10+ video standard Fire TV and Fire TV Cube owners will be able to access to enjoy their shows with.

Apple has also announced plans to offer Dolby Atmos sound later this fall. Roku already has Dolby Atmos support on select Roku TV models as does the Roku Ultra.
