Now Bloomberg has reported that Amazon has added an option to tell Amazon not to allow human review of your Alexa recordings from devices like an Echo or a Fire TV.
To request that your recordings not be manually reviewed, you must download the Alexa smartphone app on iOS or Android. There, in the Settings, you will find an option to opt-out of human review of Alexa-powered voice recordings.
Amazon has also updated the Alexa Privacy information to add a description about the voice review. “With this setting on, your voice recordings may be used to develop new features and manually reviewed to help improve our services. Only an extremely small fraction of voice recordings are manually reviewed.”
By turning off human review, you will still be able to use your Alexa just no one will be listening to your recorded voice commands to Alexa.
