One of the main issues with the stock of the Fire TV seems to have been the Fire TV remote. With demands for the Fire TV coming from the box, stick, and new line of smart TVs, Amazon has had trouble keeping up.
Now Amazon has found a fix for that issue. Last week it was reported that a new Fire TV remote cleared FCC testing. AFTVnews.com reported that sources have confirmed that the new remote will soon be included in the current Fire TV box and Fire TV stick.
Using Bluetooth reduces the number of parts needed inside the remote. No longer do you need specialized equipment in the remote for Wi-Fi direct. There are a few tradeoffs. Wi-Fi direct uses a little less power and has a little longer range; however, in most living rooms you will not notice any change.
Again it is important to remember that this change just returns the Fire TV remote to the same system it used with the first generation Fire TV and Fire Stick.
