Amazon Just Added New Channels to Its À La Carte Service

Amazon’s channels service is the closest thing to à la carte TV we currently have. If you are an Amazon Prime member you can use your Amazon account to sign up for a growing list of Amazon Channels. These channels include HBO, Showtime, Starz, and many lesser known channels such as Dove Channel, Fullscreen, PBS, and CuriosityStream.

Now Amazon has recently added even more channels to its service including the following:

• Toku
• IndieFlix Shorts
• Viewster Anime
• TLC Say Yes Weddings
• Pantaya
• Magnolia Selects
• FlixFling
• FilmBox Live
• Vemox Cine
• Indie Club
• Indiepix Unlimited

Most of these channels cost in the $2 to $3 a month range and typically stay under $5 a month. This allows fans of a particular style of show or movie to get access to more content they love.

The other real selling point of Amazon channels is the ability to have all your billing managed in once place. Many of these services offer standalone apps such as HBO NOW; however, with Amazon Channels you have one app and one billing account to think about.

While this is still far from the dream of à la carte TV most want it is a step in the right direction. Hopefully Amazon will continue to add more channels to the service.
