Amazon is Working on New Stargate, Robocop, Barbershop & Legally Blonde Reboots

Recently Amazon purchased MGM, and many have wondered what series Amazon would bring back as part of its $8.5 billion deal for the studio. Now according to Deadline, we are getting some ideas on what maybe coming to Amazon Prime Video.

Details are still thin, but reports are films and/or TV shows are in development for Robocop, Stargate, Legally Blonde, Fame, Barbershop, The Magnificent Seven, Pink Panther, and The Thomas Crown Affair.

For Stargate, it is being reported that both a film and TV a show are in development, with the Film likely being released first, followed by a TV show.

Robocop will also be getting both a film and a TV show, but this time, the TV show may be released first.

This is likely just the start of Amazon’s plans for MGM. MGM’s catalog includes 12 Angry Men, Basic Instinct, Creed, James Bond, Legally Blonde, Moonstruck, Poltergeist, Raging Bull, Robocop, Rocky, Silence of the Lambs, Stargate, Thelma & Louise, Tomb Raider, The Magnificent Seven, The Pink Panther, The Thomas Crown Affair, and many other iconic titles—as well as 17,000 TV shows—including Fargo, The Handmaid’s Tale, and Vikings.

Amazon paid $8.5 billion for MGM, bringing a catalog of more than 4,000 film titles and 17,000 TV episodes to Amazon as the studio joins Prime Video and Amazon Studios.
